Our Shared Acts of Kindness in May

Many good deeds begin in the simplest ways: someone picks up a crochet hook, someone comes to a gathering, someone helps prepare a package, or someone attends a charity fair to tell others about our foundation. Behind every one of these actions are people who are willing to share their time and warmth.

Our Fairies do more than knit and sew. They meet, learn new skills, support one another, and find ways to help babies and their parents together. Every gathering reminds us that behind the little items delivered to hospitals stands a large community of caring people.

Thank you to everyone who stood by us in May: those who support our foundation through donations and monthly contributions, knit and sew, help organize events, take part in charity fairs, and simply find ways to be there for others.

Create: 100 items for babies and hospitals

Purchase: 24 skeins of yarn for new care sets

What happened in May:

• We held a Zoom meeting dedicated to planning the club's birthday celebration and the Day of Premature Babies;

• We carried out a deep clean of the Fairy House;

• We packed and delivered 40 gifts for mothers to BKUS;

• We held a volunteer gathering;

• We met with our Fairies and began crocheting Līgo keychains. The gathering brought together 10 Fairies;

• We took part in the “TAKA” fair and festival;

• We held another Zoom meeting to discuss preparations for the Day of Premature Babies;

• We met with our coordinators at the Fairy House;

• We recorded our first podcast with a mother of a premature baby;

• We purchased and collected hollow fibre filling for our handmade items;

• We delivered 46 care sets for babies to Riga Maternity Hospital, containing a total of 276 items;

• We sent baby clothes from the Goodness Wardrobe to a mother staying in hospital;

• We continued crocheting Līgo keychains at another Fairy gathering. This time, 11 participants came together and made 50 keychains;

• We took part in the “Maija Grāfs” fair and festival;

• We participated in the “Preka Festivāls” fair and festival;

• We sent 20 care sets to Jēkabpils Hospital;

• We recorded our second podcast with a mother of a premature baby.

Our community of monthly supporters continues to grow. In May, Julia and Irina joined our Faith Fairies. Thank you for becoming part of a community where care turns into meaningful acts of kindness.
